Making 10

Today in maths we had to try and think of all the possible combinations that make 10. There were some amazing answers and everyone's brains were working very hard!

Sports Group Research

Today, the group who are presenting their research on Powerpoint were working together collaboratively to form sentences, find information on Google and type their information onto PowerPoint. Miss D was very impressed with the great engagement, focus and communication happening in her class.

Buddy Time on Friday

What an amazing time we had for buddy time on Friday. It was fantastic to hear the quiet bubble of conversation and see such focused work.

In buddies we started to design our on soccer uniform.
This is Sharlisa's and Tiana's:

Jared's Uniform Design

My uniform is for a rugby team. I used the koru designs and coloured it light brown. I worked with my Ako Ngatahi buddy, Aisa, to design my uniform.

Personal Best

Lucas, from Ako Nga Tahi, demonstrates to us what a great job can be made of task when you are willing to put in your personal best.

Designing uniforms

Today, with our buddy class, we have been designing sports uniforms. This fits with the topic both classes are doing.

Sports Research again

Today we have continued finding information about sports.   We have used written information, the computers and the i-pads to answer our questions. We have also been working on presenting our work in a variety of ways.  Some of us chose to do posters, some are making videos and others are making a slide show.  We will show you how great they are when we finish them.

Independent Reading in Room 6

We are starting to develop our choice of reading material and sustain longer periods of reading independently in our Room 6 reading class.

We get to choose from a range of picture books or chapter books and can read our group journals too. At the moment we are still practicing staying focused and settled for 5 minutes.

Continents and Countries

We are learning about countries and continents. We needed to find countries in an atlas then we needed to find and label them on our own world map.

Kody and Lennox working very hard on their reading. Some great decoding boys!
